About

Neuropsychological Assessment for Adults

We are a psychology practice providing neuropsychological assessment and clinical guidance for adults experiencing cognitive, emotional, or functional difficulties, including concussion and post-concussion presentations.

Neuropsychology focuses on understanding the relationship between brain function, cognition, emotion, and everyday functioning. Our work involves careful, evidence-based assessment to help people understand their cognitive profile and what may assist with recovery, adjustment, and day-to-day functioning.

What Is a Neuropsychologist?

Neuropsychologists are psychologists who have completed additional postgraduate training in neuropsychology, with a focus on brain–behaviour relationships.

In Australia, neuropsychologists:

  • Complete an undergraduate degree in psychology

  • Undertake postgraduate psychology training

  • Complete further accredited postgraduate training in neuropsychology

  • Accumulate extensive supervised clinical experience

  • Hold registration as a psychologist, with endorsement in neuropsychology through the relevant regulatory bodies

This training involves in-depth study of:

  • Brain structure and function

  • Cognitive processes such as attention, memory, executive functioning, and processing speed

  • The effects of brain injury, neurological conditions, and medical illness

  • The interaction between cognitive, emotional, and psychological factors

Our Training and Clinical Experience

Our clinicians have training and experience in:

  • Comprehensive neuropsychological assessment

  • Standardised cognitive testing

  • Clinical formulation and differential diagnosis

  • Interpreting complex or overlapping symptom presentations

  • Translating assessment findings into clear, practical recommendations

We commonly work with adults experiencing:

  • Concussion and mild traumatic brain injury

  • Ongoing post-concussion symptoms

  • Attention and executive functioning difficulties

  • Memory and cognitive concerns affecting work, study, or daily life

Assessments are tailored to the individual and the referral question, rather than using fixed or generic test batteries.

Our Clinical Approach

We take a careful, thoughtful, and person-centred approach to neuropsychological assessment.

This includes:

  • Taking time to understand your history, concerns, and goals

  • Considering cognitive, emotional, sleep, and lifestyle factors together

  • Providing clear explanations of assessment findings

  • Offering recommendations that are practical, evidence-based, and relevant to daily life

Our aim is to support understanding, informed decision-making, and functional improvement.
